Nissan engaged Eight Inc. to redesign their iconic showroom situated at Ginza crossing in Tokyo, Japan. The gallery would serve as an experiential gallery to show the latest and future offerings from Nissan.
The interior design aimed to attract customers into the space from the main street through the dynamic figures flowing throughout the gallery which are visible through the transparent facade, as well as through the digital mesh used on the 2nd floor.
Various interactive touchpoints were developed to keep the customers engaged within the gallery. These touchpoints were spatially defined by the ribbon-like structures that sweep and flow through the space.

Concurrently with the Globe GEN3 retail roll-out program, we designed the Globe Iconic store in the Fort Bonifacio Global City district of Manila, Philippines.
The store is split into two separate zones. The South wing houses all music and entertainment functions, while the North wing focuses on lifestyle and productivity. A glass walkway bridges these two stores to create a unique shopping experience that shifts from interior and exterior spaces.
A pair of movable LED screens activate the plaza for various events and allows Globe to interact with its customers through live shows, movie nights, events, screenings and more.
This prototype examines minimal surface fabrication through material research and experimentation with fibre reinforced concrete. Patterning and repetition within the minimal surface geometry manifests itself as a tectonic architectural assembly.
Eight Inc. was tasked with developing a new customer experience for the Lincoln brand in China. This was the first time the Ford Motor Company was entering the Chinese market.
My responsibilities in the Lincoln Concours project included developing the exterior facade and the Personalization Studio.
The Personalization Studio enables guests to see their dream Lincoln at a 1 to 1 scale using a matrix of 60” displays. Using actual swatches of the car finishes, guests are able to configure their vehicle of choice in real time, while simultaneously getting a look and feel of the materials.
Shimano, the leading bicycle components manufacture, approached Eight Inc. to create a space to help people rediscover the joy of cycling. Shimano Cycling World is located within the Singapore Sports Hub Complex, and is adjacent to a bicycle path that guides cyclists towards the marina.
When designing the Shimano Cycling World, we were conscious of the various levels of cyclists- from beginners to experts- and wanted to create a space that would be able to engage each customer type.
We developed several interactive cycling-inspired touchpoints embedded throughout the various zones to get visitors excited about the sport.
Xiaomi is a Chinese consumer electronics company that got a foothold on the industry by using online platforms to market and sell their products. As the company grew, so did the need to create physical touch points in order to have a reach into tier 3 or 4 cities in China.
Eight Inc.’s objective was to create a store that is accessible and performs as portal to the wide range of offerings both online and offline. Xiaomi constantly launches new products, so it was necessary for the space to be more than a display of table top devices, but a place to tell stories of relevance, uses and benefits. We wanted to space to be engaging, through live demonstrations by Xiaomi’s staff, so customers can learn to incorporate Xiaomi’s products into their lives.
INSEAD, a leading graduate business school, approached Eight Inc. to help create a new hub for its creative business related courses. The courses were taught with a focus on creating and collaborating and the traditional classroom layout didn’t facilitate the type of work being done.
The curriculum helped define the way the space was to be organized and centered on it being a social place for collaboration, emotion, creation and change.
To enable the flexible functions, we designed specific components such as the movable table and presentation boards to allow the space to be easily reconfigurable. A hanging frame and its attachments provide power to devices and allow the space to turn into a gallery. Tiered seating along the perimeter provides students with a social space and doubles as event seating.
For the new OUE Downtown Gallery in Singapore, OUE approached Eight Inc. to design and brand a new F&B space for the busy central business district crowd.
The experience begins with an app. Customers can easily browse through the menu and arrange a pick up at the food vaults.
The space is divided into two floors. The top floor is primarily used for the food vaults, where customers can easily find their locker and grab their food through an app. The floor below is dedicated for a social space defined by a modular and stackable system of pixel-like blocks. The fixtures can be moved around to serve different purposes.
Singtel, the leading telco provider in Singapore, needed a space to showcase it’s business solutions capabilities.
The design for Singtel FutureNow allows for its guests to experience the space in a gradual way - transitioning through a hospitality area before immersing themselves in the exhibitions and presentations. The main exhibition space consists of 6 bays that display Singtel's solutions in an engaging way. The highlight of the space is the central zone that allows for collaboration, and can flex to various group sizes and events.
Eight Inc. was invited to reimagine what the future of Singapore Expo would be.
By looking at the site, case studies and conducting interviews, we zoned in on programing the space to become a creative cluster.
The experience framework centered on creativity. The key themes to encourage the type of behavior we wanted were:
1. Intersections
2. Serendipity
3. Finding your Spark
These themes helped us guide the project, in hopes to create a successful ideas economy.
Chapel Plaza is a mixed-used development comprising of residential, hotel, offices, F&B and retail in Melbourne, Australia. The project was divided into three distinct parts. The podium level is broken into vertical segments to match the scale of the surrounding architecture, and two towers hold the residential and hotel block.
YADEA, a leading Chinese scooter manufacturing company, engaged Eight Inc. to help rethink their dealership design and service model.
On the perimeter of the space, aspirational video content would share the joy of riding and zipping through cities and landscapes. In addition, physical touchpoints would highlight the build quality of the scooters and allow potential customers to see and feel the trims on YADEA scooters. The central zone, dubbed the Park, would be a sales floor with YADEA’s latest offerings on display on top of custom fixtures.
The new Globe GEN3 Retail Program is designed to be vibrant, exciting, unexpected and more importantly, experiential. Flexible, reconfigurable displays enable the store to change the environment, campaigns and customer experience as new technologies, products and services are introduced, keeping the environment fresh and giving customers a reason to return.
